Distribution Company

Situation:

A distribution company wanted to upgrade their IT infrastructure to make their people more productive. They had grown up from a hodgepodge of PCs and servers to become a $3MM company.


The company was struggling with PC, Server, and network support. They continuously experienced PC downtime and email connection issues. Their current provider of desktop services and their provider of network and telephone services were not working well together and issues weren't being resolved in a timely manner.


Solution:

The NT Group provided education to the business owners and gave them insight about how an outsourced managed services provider could help them. The NT Group also provided budget and services definition for a managed services program that would support the customers needs going forward.


Outcome:

At The NT Group's recommendation, the customer implemented a hosted software as a service (SaaS) model that:

  • reduced the customer's overall IT spending
  • eliminated the customer's issues with downtime
  • improved the customer's application toolset by adding MS Exchange Server
  • provided a fixed and predictable IT expense budget
  • protected sensitive customer data

The SaaS model also provided the additional benefit of allowing the customer's mobile workforce the ability to access applications remotely and securely.
